Good News Mural

The City of Vacaville, California, commissioned artist Sandra Hoover to paint a Pony Express Mural above the Heritage House Restaurant on the corner of Merchant and Main Streets, in old town Vacaville. The mural ("Good News") was installed on October 5, 2001, and depicts a subjective reenactment of a Pony Express transfer,...with artistic license, (of course colored by Hollywood and the big screen). The Mural commemorates not only the Service but also notes the importance of receiving President Lincoln's inaugural address at a time when California was hotly debating Unionist and Secessionist issues.
