Pony Express National Monument

The land for the monument was donated by Cabela's - World Famous Outfitters, in Sidney, Nebraska. Cheyenne County Tourism has offered to fund one-half the cost of the monument and the Sidney Jaycees will raise the balance needed.

The Jaycees would like to surround the 'horseshoe' with a wrought iron fence and place a life-size horse and rider sculpture in the center. You may see the proposed plans for the monument here.

The Monument is to be constructed for the 150th Anniversary of the Pony Express which will be in 2010.
